PURPOSE:To enable a high-speed printing by electronically collating and selecting the position of a character or symbol and the array position of a type involved each time a card is fed by one digit with a feeding mechanism to automatically perform a printing with a solenoid and an armature. CONSTITUTION:A character to be printed is inputted into a computer control system, for example. Then, a card 10 is fed in the direction C facing the type array with a feeding mechanism. Here, each time the card 10 is fed by one pitch, the position of the character on the card 10 and the array position of the type 1 are collated and selected electronically by a control system. The type 1 coincided with the select operation is driven for printing in the direction A with a solenoid 4 and an armature 3 electromagnetically driven synchronizing it to perform a printing on the card 10. Then, as the card 10 is being fed, a printing is automatically done and finally, the printing is completed as desired. Then, the card 10 passes through the array of types.
