The invention relates to a friction torque limiter for a machine subjected to accidental instantaneous blockages. Oxidation makes a torque limiter which operates rarely inefficient. Two plates 13 forcefully clamp a friction disc 2; one of them is positively driven, it then comes away, the other driven by elastic blades 5 comes away after the first. In the case of oxidation of the frictions, the starting torque of the limiter is thus diminished. Application: driving grinders and shredders, especially for industrial recuperation. <IMAGE>
