PURPOSE:To measure and detect a radiation dose, by simple constitution utilizing electrooptical change of a conductive polymer to the irradiation of radioactive rays in doping gas. CONSTITUTION:When radioactive rays are irradiated in such a state that a high- molecular compound such as polythiophene is sealed in an outer cover 4 along with doping gas SF, polythiophene having an insulating property is changed to a conductive polymer 1 having conductivity and the electric resistance thereof changes corresponding to a radiation dose. This electric resistance is measured through an electrode 2 and a lead wire 3, and the measurement of a radiation dose and the detection of radioactive rays are performed by simple constitution. Similarly, even if the light pervious amount of the optical characteristic of the conductive polymer is measured, a similar result can be obtained.
