PURPOSE:To enable two ignitors to be operated by means of a convenient equipment by generating an ignition signal under requirement of high precision on the basis of the result from comparison of a target ignition timing with a reference crank turn angular position and otherwise, generating an electrification starting signal to the ignition coil using a timer means. CONSTITUTION:There is provided an ignition timing determining means 2 which determines a target ignition timing according to the output of an engine operating condition detecting means 1. There is also provided a detecting means 3 which detects the reference crank turn angular position and a target ignition timing is stored in a memory means 4 as a delay quantity from the reference crank turn angular position on the basis of the detected signal. When the delay angular quantity becomes equal to the value of the crank turn angle made from the reference turn angular position, an ignition signal is generated from an ignition signal generating means 5. Additionally, there is provided a timer means 6 which generates an electrification start signal of an ignition coil incorporated in one ignition system using the criterion of the time when ignition signal is generated for the ignition coil of the other system so that the ignition coil is electrified for a specified time before generation of the ignition signal.
