PURPOSE:To obtain a laser recording film capable of producing negative or positive images with a high blackened density and high resolution, by a method wherein a recording medium comprising a non-autoxidizing binder, graphite and a heat ray absorber having high absorptive power for YAG laser light is provided on a transparent base by coating. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium comprising a non-autoxidizing binder, graphite and a heat ray absorber having high absorptive power for YAG laser light is provided on the transparent base by coating. Graphite, which is used as fine particles for providing a high blackened density and absorbing heat, is preferably in a particulate form with a particle diameter of ordinarily not larger than 2mum. The binder may be an acrylic resin, a phenolic resin or the like. The heat ray absorber may be a compound of general formula ( I ) or (II). The addition of the heat ray absorber has a great effect particularly on the transfer of the recording medium of a negative film, and has a marked effect on enhancing the resolution. |
