PURPOSE:To offer a windproof and flameless catalytic gas lighter, by providing a gas nozzle on the lower part of a catalyst piece consisting of platinum. CONSTITUTION:When an operating unit 4 of a piezo-electric ignitor 3 is made to press and operate in the direction of an arrow F, a gas lever 5 is interlocked with the same and gas is injected from a gas nozzle 6. In addition to the above, when the operating unit 4 is pressed down, high voltage is generated from the piezo-electric ignitor 3. Electric discharge is generated between a high-pressure lead wire 7 of the piezo-electric ignitor 3 and the gas nozzle 6 through the generated high voltage and it becomes that the gas which has been kept injected is ignited. In this instance, although a flame is formed instantaneously and though the flame is gone out as continuation of formation of the flame is interrupted by a catalyst piece 8 arranged on the top part of the lighter casing so that it is positioned on the upper part of the gas nozzle 6, it becomes that the titled lighter prepares for lighting of tobacco by heating the catalyst piece 8 through the then explosive heat, performing catalytic combustion of the gas to be injected from the gas nozzle 6 by the catalyst piece 8 and continuing the heating. |
