PURPOSE:To improve the responsiveness of actuation, by installing plural pieces of an element being made up into more slender form than mechanochemical matter at regular intervals in parallel with one another, in case of a mechanochemical actuator which produces mechanical deformation by a chemical change. CONSTITUTION:Mechanochemical matter is made up into slender form in advance, setting it down to each actuator element 1, while plural pieces of this element 1 are installed at regular intervals in parallel with one another, and both ends of each element 1 are locked to a common locking device 2 with a bonding agent or the like. Under the above condition, an interval between each of elements 1 is made up to serve as an actuator where a trigger member is passable through, whereby with expansion of each element 1 in time of feeding the trigger member, the whole lot of the actuator is made so as to perform its expansion movement. As for the trigger member, in the case where the mechanochemical matter is of a monomer containing a spirobenzopyrene group, by way of example, ultraviolet rays are used, irradiating the element 1 with these rays whereby the actuator is made to do its expansion movement. |
