<p>PURPOSE:To enable a recognizer regardless of large character sizes by detecting a vector indicating respective line directions of written characters and depicted patterns, and by comparing this vector with data for characters and patterns prepared as data. CONSTITUTION:An inputted light coming in from an optical fiber 3 is distributed by a light distributor 10 into two directions; one light is inputted to a photoelectric converter circuit 11 which uses a phototransistor and outputted as an analog signal. The analog signal is divided into three steps by a comparator 12 and outputted as a digital signal to a computer. The other light enters a light spectroscope 13 to be resolved into primary colors; red, blue, and green, which enter respective photoelectric converter circuits 14R, 14G, and 14B. The light input is any one of these three colors; red, blue, and green, therefore one of the three photoelectric converter circuits is entered by the light input and is outputted as the digital signal. The signal from the comparator 12 indicates right/left directional pen's movement and the one from said circuit upper/lower directional pen's movement, thereby enabling the computer to calculate from the signals and to recognize characters and patterns.</p> |
