A corner joint for profile parts consisting of a metal hollow profile covered with a plastics layer, preferably polyurethane foam, which are mitred and can be joined together to form a frame, in particular for windows or doors, is described. To this end, a metal corner angle is inserted into the hollow profiles of the abutting profile parts, and the mitre surfaces of these profile parts are coated with a plastics adhesive. In order to prevent the occurrence of joints in the mitre region as a result of shrinkage of the abutting plastics layers of the profile parts, it is provided to arrange in the mitre surfaces of the abutting profile parts at least one pair of flush, slit-shaped recesses in the plastics layer in a plane parallel to the plane of the frame, into which the plastics adhesive is introduced.
