发明名称 TREATMENT OF HOT BILLET IN CONTINUOUS CASTING
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the yield of product and to economize energy by scanning respectively the edge part of a hot billet by an eddy current type detector and the broad surface part by an optical detector, comparing the detected value of a flaw with a standard flaw decision value and determining the finishing route. CONSTITUTION:A surface thermometer 11 is provided in front of an eddy current type flaw detector 12 and the surface temp. of a billet 14 is controlled via spray water 9. The flaw in an edge part 19 is detected by the eddy current type flaw detector 12. The broat surface of the billet 14 which is cut by a cutter 13 and is polished is scanned by an optical flaw detector 17 such as a laser beam, mercury lamp, etc. in the position where the temp. of said surface decreases to >=900 deg.C. The flaw information detected by the detectors 12 and 17 is compared with a standard decision value in each position of the billet 14 by a calculator and the finishing route of the direct feeding to a rolling line and conditioning line or the like is determined. The yield of the product is improved and energy is conserved by the rationalized flaw treatment.
