Motorised hang glider which is capable of a running start

A weight-controlled hang glider which is capable of a running start and has a pushed propeller engine suspended on a load rod which can pivot is described, in which the tail load distribution is compensated for by using the weight of the pusher propeller engine to shift the pilot's weight forwards to a corresponding extent in front of the centre of gravity. This can be achieved, on the one hand, by means of two parallel "hip rods" which extend from the pusher engine to the pilot's hips. However, this can also be done by means of two cables which are mounted in the small of the pilot's back, one of which runs at the rear end of the load rod, and the other of which runs to the front end of the load rod, which is pulled forward to a large extent. In addition, this system simultaneously and automatically results in the weight displacement control movements of the pilot being converted into inclinations of the propeller plane or of the propeller air jet, as a result of which a "power-steering" effect is produced, which increases the flight safety and comfort in powered flight.
