PURPOSE:To perform multiple address transmission automatically without putting restrictions on the number or pages, by dividing and storing and transmitting automatically a multiple address transmission original consisting of plural pages. CONSTITUTION:Picture information read by a picture signal reader 1 is encoded by a picture information encoding device 2 and is stored in a picture information storage device 3; and when reading of one-page components of the transmission original is terminated, a peripheral circuit controller 4 reports this termination to the picture information storage device 3. At this time, the picture information storage device 3 checks the remaining capacity where information can be stored; and if this capacity is smaller than the memory capacity where one-page components of picture information can be stored statistically, this state is reported to the peripheral circuit controller 4. By this report, the peripheral circuit controller 4 instructs the picture information encoding device 2 to interrupt encoding and the picture information encoding device 2 stops the picture signal reader 1. When transmission is completed, stored contensts of the storage device 3 are cleared, and picture information is stored again from the position of the transmission original where storage is interrupted temporarily.
