NEW MATERIAL:A peptide shown by the formula R<1>-Tyr-R<2> [R<1> is Thr-Val-, Met-Glu-Val-Pro-Lys-Ala-Lys-Asp-Thr-Val-, or Arg-Pro-Lys-Leu-Pro-Leu-Arg-; R<2> is -Thr-Lys-Gly-Arg, -Pro-Glu-Arg-Leu-Glu-Asn-Pro-R<3>, -Pro-Glu-Arg-Leu-Glu- Tyr-Pro-R<4> (R<3> and R<4> are amino acid residue)], having integrity to opioid receptor of rat brain. USE:An analgesic narcotic, a hypnotic, and a stimulant. PREPARATION:For example, a peptide shown by the formula is extracted and separated from a pepsin hydrolyzate of breast milk by activity test of receptor assay method through liquid chromatography.
