PURPOSE:To enable automatic area extraction by obtaining the 2nd picture having the similarity degree of the specific pattern mode than a threshold from the 1st picture with respect to an original picture, the 3rd picture through translation by frequency width and an AND of the 2nd and 3rd pictures. CONSTITUTION:An original picture read out from a picture input device is scanned as an original picture signal 1 in a raster scan shape at every one picture element by a simularity degree deciding circuit 1 and converted into a binary graphic signal 3, which decides the frequency by a frequency deciding circuit 4. Then a hatching factor picture signal 5 with a factor consisting of a hatching having ''1'' can be obtained. Since the signal 5 becomes periodically scattered dots or a small area, an expansion circuit 6 brings the signal 5 into a larger face area. An output signal 7 of an expansion circuit 6 becomes a hatching area fed out from the original picture signal 1. When an excess expansion is generated by the expansion circuit 6, the scattered dots or the small area are reduced by an AND filter after they are annexed. |
