LABELED METALLOTHIONEINE AND MEASURING METHOD OF METALLOTHIONEINE USING SAID METALLOTHIONEINE

PURPOSE:To measure metallothioneine with high sensitivity by conjugating the metallothioneine and tyrosine ith a specific binder, conjugating the same with radioactive iodine to prepare labeled metallothioneine and using the same in radioimmunoassay. CONSTITUTION:Metallothioneine and tyrosine are conjugated by the binder expressed by the formula (for example, m-maleimidebenzoyl-N-hydroxysuccinimide ester). Radioactive iodine is conjugated therewith to prepare labeled mettalothioneine-binder-tyrosine (labeled antigen). This labeled antigen and metallothioneine antibody are mixed with a specimen having metallothioneine (antibody) to conjugate the antigen and the antibody. The conjugate thereof is subjected to a radioimmunoassay by which the labeled metallothioneine is measured. The measured value and the preliminarily determined standard value of a standard sample are compared and the amt. of the metallothioneine in the specimen is determined. The metallothioneine in a living body is thus detected with high accuracy by using the labeled metallothioneine and the poisoning disease with heavy metals is diagnosed in an early period.
