The invention relates to glass equipment for the extraction of soluble constituents from solids with the aid of liquid solvents characterised in that the vessel (described in the accompanying drawing as "extraction casing" and "sorption column") containing the solids to be extracted can be separated by means of ground glass joints from the part of the equipment serving for the distillation of the solvent and in that the solvent recovered from the extract by distillation within the equipment continuously flows through the material to be extracted from bottom to top. After the extraction is completed, the solvent which is situated in the vessel containing the material to be extracted, by opening the flat tap, is either combined with the extract or collected separately for testing the completeness of the extraction. A flat tap is necessary in order to avoid sticking of the tap which is ungreased to avoid contamination of the extract by tap grease.
