The method for butt-welding two cylindrical parts comprises the following successive steps: -placing the two parts to be welded (1, 2) end-to-end, coaxially, with their radial plane sides (3, 4) facing each other, with a first ring (5) inserted between the two facing sides, -welding from the outside, at the first ring (5) so as to cause the melting of said ring while forming a first welding bead (5a) connecting the two parts to be welded, -longitudinal displacement of a second ring (6) arranged about one of the two parts to be welded (2) until said second ring (6) surrounds from the outside the first welding bead (5a), -welding from the outside, at the second ring (6), so as to cause its complete melting to obtain a second welding bead (6a) on the first bead (5a), said second welding bead also connecting the two parts to be welded (1, 2). Application for example to the welding of bundles of pipes of a steam generator. |
