PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp and excellent visual image which has sufficient density and neither roughness nor fogging by using such single-component and high-dielectric-strength toner that the ratio of a dynamic current showing dependency is specially small. CONSTITUTION:This image forming method supplies a developer into a development space with a developer support, establishing an alternating electric field in the development space, and attracts particles of the developer from the nap of the developer to an electrostatic image through the operation of the alternating electric field. The developer uses such a single-component and high-dielectric- strength developer with such impressed voltage dependency of its dynamic current Iv that satisfying 0.8<=Iv(+500)/Iv(+200)<=2.0 or 0.8<=Iv(-500)/Iv(-200)<=2.0. The developer in use consists principally of resin and ferromagnetic particulates and may contain a coloring agent. A developing device 4 which develops the electrostatic charge image into a toner image, a transfer device 5 which transfers the toner image to a transfer material 9 by, for example, an electrostatic transferring method, and a destaticizer 6 which destaticizes the carrier 1 after transfer are arranged around the electrostatic charge image carrier 1. |
