This wave generator produces continuous waves in a flexible surfacing (1) which are suitable for surfing with roller skates and skateboard. Beneath a flexible surfacing (1) which extends over a closed track, are two rows (22, 23) of mutually connected crank mechanisms (9), whose axes (6) of rotation are aligned in the direction of the track. the crank mechanisms (9) each contain an eccentric crank pin (3), the diameter of whose circle of rotation is equal to the wave height. The crank pins (3) hold a large number of supports (5) which support the surfacing (1) and are arranged transversely to the track direction, via connecting rods (4) each at different heights, so that the surfacing (1) connected to the supports (5) deforms in the track direction to produce undulating elevations and depressions, which progress in the track direction during the rotation of the crank mechanisms (9).
