Method for recording and/or reproducing wide band signals, wherein particularly video colour signals are separated when recording signal portions with different bandwidth requirements. To supress the cross-talk effect during the reproduction from tracks having different signal contents, the present invention proposes to follow pair-wise on the magnetic tape tracks with high bandwidth need signal parts and tracks with reduced bandwidth need signal parts.
