Method and arrangement for measuring the greasiness of the skin

For determining the greasiness of the human skin, especially the scalp, a fat solvent is sprayed onto a delimited area of skin via a shower (18) in the extraction vessel (6), and the superatmospheric pressure necessary for the showering operation is generated by an inert gas, preferably nitrogen. The fat solvent which contains sebaceous matter is extracted into a storage vessel (32) via a collection vessel (15) and a filtration device (27). The sebaceous matter contained in the fat solvent is determined gravimetrically after elimination of the fat solvent. Due to the relatively large area of skin covered by the showering operation the fat quantities obtained are fairly high when compared to the conventional extraction methods, so that methodological errors are only small. <IMAGE>
