A protective light screen is described, which has a non-translucent, photocured resinous layer and a plurality of hollow regions. The hollow regions have corresponding upper and lower openings and pass through the resinous layer. The hollow regions further each have inner walls which extend from the circumference of the upper opening to the circumference of the lower opening in a manner essentially parallel to the axis of the hollow regions. This protective light screen is produced by image-wise exposure of a layer of a photocured, photocurable, resinous material by means of actinic rays through a transparent image, the layer being changed into a modified layer with photocured regions and a plurality of uncured regions. Subsequently, the uncured regions are removed by means of a developer, accompanied by the formation of hollow regions which pass through the modified layer and have corresponding upper and lower openings. The protective light screen can shield light rays from the outside in an effective way, without there being an impairment of the image of an image display device.
