In a visual radio direction finder, a bearing indication in the shape of a lozenge on the screen of a display device is derived from separately obtained information on bearing angle and obscuring, the position of the long diagonal specifying the bearing angle, and the ratio of the diagonals being an illustrative measure of the obscuring of the bearing. The indication is preferably displayed on a vector display device.
