PURPOSE:To eliminate such a case where an operator thinks that malfunction occurs and has distrust by detecting whether or not an information signal is recorded and by displaying the result. CONSTITUTION:A video signal recorded in a magnetic disk A is detected by a magnetic head 5. A control means D switches a changeover switch to a terminal 4b. The video signal detected by the magnetic head 5 is amplified by an amplifier circuit 14, outputted as a video signal by a reproduction processing system 30 and displayed on a cathode ray tube 31. When an information signal is not recorded in the magnetic disk A, the control means D outputs a signal at a low level to a display means G and makes a light emitting diode 22 nonoperable. Thus whether or not an information signal is recorded in the magnetic disk A can be detected and displayed.
