A rotary snow plough (10) consists of two cutting drums and a throwing drum lying between them. The drum arrangement is surrounded on the rear side by a rear wall housing (26). The region of the cutting drums is open at the front, but the throwing drum is closed at the front by a front housing (40). The snow entering the throwing drum from the cutting drums can no longer be thrown forwards but enters over a small radius the throwing drum, is then gradually moved outwards, at the same time accelerated and leaves the throwing drum with maximum speed through a chimney (36). <IMAGE>
