PURPOSE:To detect a steering angle accurately by providing a run distance sensor, run direction sensor, steering angle sensor, means which decides on output v variations of those sensors, and means which decides on a straight run of a vehicle on the basis of the decision result. CONSTITUTION:The steering angle sensor 1, distance sensor 2, a terrestrial magnetism sensor 3 which outputs direction data, a smoothing device 4 which averages direction data at specific intervals of run distance, a steering variation decision device 5, a direction variation decision device 6, a straight run decision device 7, and a neutral position setting device 8 which resets a steering angle counter in a straight run state with a signal from the decision device 7 are provided. Consequently, it is misjudged that a gentle curve is a straight run, and an accurate neutral position is detected, so direction variation of the vehicle is detected from the steering angle to correct terrestrial magnetism direction data accurately. |
