PURPOSE:To enable an ink layer to be continuously regenerated or recovered on an ink medium, by a construction wherein a loop form ink medium is fitted, is fed in one direction, and a printing part, an ink-recovering part and an ink- applying part are provided in the surrounding of the loop of the ink medium. CONSTITUTION:A film carrier 10 is passed through a front part of a printing head 1 each time of printing, while an ink applied to the carrier 10 is melted and scraped off by opposite rotations of an ink-recovering roller 17 heated to a temperature higher than the melting point of a solvent of the ink and a roller 13, and the scraped ink is recovered into an ink tank 21 heated to a fixed temperature. Then, the ink is transferred and applied to the carrier 10 by an applicator roller 19 and a cooling roller 18, the amount of the ink applied being determined by the rotating directions and rotating speeds of a group of rollers in an ink-metering part 20. Accordingly, the useful life of the ink ribbon is prolonged, and operating cost can be markedly lowered. |
