SYNCHRONIZING CONTROL SYSTEM OF CASSETTE TYPE MAGNETIC TAPE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To assure the synchronizing control in a data reading mode by detecting a synchronizing character corresponding to a data frame on a data track only in a range limited by the relative position with a marker. CONSTITUTION:Both a data track TD21 and a marker track TM23 are recorded on an audio cassette type magnetic tape CMT. Then data records 221, 222- are recorded on the TD21; while frames 321, 322- are recorded to a record 22i. A marker 24 is recorded on the TM23 corresponding to a frame 32i. When a frame synchronizing character FSYN41 corresponding to the frame 32i is detected, a CMT controller 72 controls a CMT drive 73 according to a reading command sent from a CPU71. Then the controller 72 detects the FSYN41 only in a range of 4 bits in front and rear positions respectively centering on a marker end point after detection of the marker 24. Thus the synchronizing control is assured in a data reading mode.
