PURPOSE:To enable rapid increasing of the temperature of air for heating and the like after the starting of an engine, by a method wherein a quantity of heat of exhaust gas is transferred to a heat transfer medium, and a heat is transferred to air, fed from a fan, from the heat transfer medium through a different heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:An evaporator 2, a fan 4, and a heater core 5 are installed to an air duct casing 1 for heating air. In which case, a heat exchanger 26 is located in the vicinity of the heater core 5. Meanwhile, a heat exchanger 25 is situated down an exhaust pipe from a three-dimentional catalyst reaction part 23 on an exhaust pipe 22 through which high-temperature exhaust gas 24 flows. The heat exchangers 25 and 26 are connected to each other through a heat transfer medium 27. This causes the heat of the exhaust gas 24 to be transferred to air through the heat transfer medium 27 and the heat exchanger 26. Heated air is fed in a room through a front blast port G, an below blast port F, and a defrosting port H. This enables rapid increasing of air temperature after the starting of an engine. |
