Process for forming a double weave on looms with ribbon-making needles, which can be used particularly for forming gussets in gathering braid and top ribbons for curtains and which involves forming a double shed at the locations where a double weave is to be made, characterized in that it involves using at least one warp thread (6) as a weft thread in the double-woven part, the said thread (6) continuing to perform its function as a warp thread in the single-woven part, this warp thread, when it serves as a weft thread being arranged substantially at mid-height in the upper shed, and the number of warp threads needed to be used a weft thread being equal to the number of longitudinal rows of double-woven parts (15) to be woven. |
