PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber reinforced plastic joint of improved appearance and performance by winding a continuous, stranded mat around the outside of a heat resistant vinyl chloride resin joint and by pouring and impregnating thermosetting resin into it and hardening it. CONSTITUTION:After a cotton-like continuous, stranded mat 2 is wound over a heat resistant vinyl chloride tee joint (HT joint) in a thickness as required, the HT joint 1 is placed into the mold 3b of a mold 3 which has a caving formed with an identical shape but a little wider than the above HT joint. An upper mold 3a is placed to close the cavity and unsaturated polyester resin is poured from a portion of the mold 3 and the stranded mat 2 is impregnated and is left to be hardened. Then, also into the mold 3 the HT joint 1 over which the above stated mat 2 is wound is placed and closed tightly and, thereafter, unsaturated polyester resin is poured and the mat 2 is impregnated with the resin and is left to be hardened to form FRP joint A. |
