PURPOSE:To perform with good result the re-filling of ink at the time of full multiplication, by laminating cover, which comprises a flat plate, of a passage and a supply chamber while providing a recessed part to the part, which constitutes the aforementioned supply chamber, of said flat plate. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet recording head is constituted of an orifice 1, an ink passage 2, an ink supply chamber 3, an ink supply orifice 4, a base plate 5 and a cover 7. Furthermore, an energy generation element for generating energy for emitting small ink droplets from the orifice 1 and an electrode 5 connected to said element and imparting a signal for emitting the ink droplets to said element are provided to the base plate 5 by wiring. In this recording head, a recessed part is provided to the ceiling part corresponding to the ink supply chamber 3 of the cover 7 for constituting the ink passage 2 and the ink supply chamber 3 and the ink supply chamber is formed so as to obtain an ink storage amount sufficient to obtain a good ink emission property.
