PURPOSE:To operate a feeder independently from the printer body by providing a source battery in a cut sheet feeder and operating said feeder by means of said battery. CONSTITUTION:A source battery 25 is contained in a battery container 28 provided on the rear face 26 of a cut sheet feeder 16. In order to carry a paper 19 from a paper cassette 18 set in a cassette holder 17 in said feeder 16 into the printer body 20, a motor drive command signal is fed from a control circuit 22 in the feeder 16 while matching with the operation of an operating switch 21 to drive a motor 23 thus to operate a paper feed roller 24 and to feed the paper sheet by sheet from the cassette 18 to the printer body 20 through friction between the roller 24 and the paper 19. Consequently, the cut sheet feeder 16 can be operated independently from the printer body 20. |
