A curvature coil(126) is activated by a generator(52). A buffer correcting circuit(130) includes a changeover impedance(131) series connected to the curvature coil(126). The sweep return voltage pulses occur partially over the changeover impedance(131). A transformer(96) has a primary winding(96a) connected to the curvature generator's(52) output and a secondary winding(96d) on which a sample of the sweep return pulse is taken up. A damping resistance(133) in the buffer correcting circuit is coupled between the transformer's secondary winding(96d) and the impedance(131).
