PURPOSE:To improve fixation and image quality by polishing the surface of a fixing roller in its rotating direction and also polishing the surface of a pressure roller in the opposite direction of its rotating direction. CONSTITUTION:The heat (fixing) roller 1 which has a heater 3 such as a halogen heater internally rotates as shown by an arrow by receiving driving force from a driving motor. The pressure roller 2 incorporating a heater 3 for low heating is driven while pressed against the heat roller 1. The surface of the heat roller 1 is polished in its rotating direction and the surface of the pressure roller 2, on the other hand, is polished in the opposite direction of its rotating direction. Both rollers 1 and 2 have 1-12mum (Rz) ten point mean surface roughness and the surface of the pressure roller 2 is as smooth as or smoother than the surface of the fixing roller 1. |
