PURPOSE:To extend the life of a storage medium by providing a means which reduces the rigidity in apart of a case. CONSTITUTION:The thickness of a part 10 of a case 1 of a floppy disc cartridge is reduced; and when this thin part 10 is pressed softly from the external by a driving mechanism using, for example, a solenoid, a liner 2 is brought into contact with a medium 3 to wipe out dirt stuck to the medium. Since the medium 3 is not pressed directly with a spring unilike a conventional method, wear of the medium 3 is reduced.
