PURPOSE:To perform the discriminating processing, which discriminates whether plural characters have the same attributes or not, at a high speed and execute Romaji (a method of writing Japanese in Roman characters)-Kana (Japanese syllabary) conversion only in case of the same attributes to prevent erroneous conversion, by providing an attribute table of key data. CONSTITUTION:Key data inputted from a key input part 1 is applied to an address of a key code status table (KSTTB)3 to read contents of the KSTTB. The KSTTB is provided for discriminating classifications (attributes) of codes inputted from a keyboard, and by this table, the key classification discriminating processing in Romaji-Kana conversion or the like is executed in a high speed. Data applied to the KSTTB3 is EBCDIC codes, and their data, namely, key code status data is inputted to a conversion main control part 2, and this status data is used to execute key classification discrimination of the processing to be next executed. This discrimination is performed by bit test of data converted to status data corresponding to each key, and the processing time is very short because of only bit test to each bit. |
