PURPOSE:To reduce the space for an image forming device and also to reduce its cost by forming one common optical path at an optical path through which light from an original at an original setting part reaches a photosensitive body through an optical system and an optical path through which light from a light writing part for a printer reaches the photosensitive body via the optical system. CONSTITUTION:The original 28 when copied is sent onto original glass 23 and then moves to the side of an original discharge roll 27 while pressed by a guide plate 22 which mounts a liquid-crystal shutter (LCS) 25 and has the reverse surface painted in white. At this time, reflected light from an original illumination lamp 20 illuminates the photosensitive body 1 which is charged uniformly through a convergent transmission body 21 to form a latent image corresponding to the original 28. This latent image is developed in an electrophotographic process and fixed on a form. On the other hand, when the latent image is formed on the photosensitive body by a printer function, an image signal is inputted externally to the LCS25, whose microshutter parts are opened and closed individually to represent light information on the LCS25 as if the original were moved.
