PURPOSE:To markedly enhance recording speed, by exposing a sublimable dye by removing microcapsule walls. CONSTITUTION:According to a recording preset signal, an ink ribbon 1 is paid out from an ink ribbon payout roll 5 by the function of a driving motor which rotate an ink ribbon take-up roll 6, and is passed through metallic rollers 2 so that the starting end of an ink layer for the first recording color of yellow is set on a heating element of a thermal head 3. When the ribbon 1 is passed through the rollers 2, microcapsules for yellow are broken by a pressure, resulting in that a yellow sublimable dye is exposed on a base of the ribbon 1. The dye is sublimed according to the quantity of thermal energy impressed, and is transferred onto a recording paper 4 laid on the ribbon 1. In synchronism with recording by the thermal head 3, the ribbon 1 and the paper 4 are fed together by the function of a driving motor connected directly with a plate roller 7, and are fed forward until recording in yellow in a page is completed. |
