PURPOSE:To decrease the number of feeding rollers, to simplify the structure and to decrease the cost by carrying a cassette with a timing belt interlocking a drive shaft and a follower shaft arranged at both ends of front and rear cassette carrying paths. CONSTITUTION:After a cassette carrying path 56 of a cassette carrying set 53 is positioned to an ejecting outlet 126 of a prescribed storage position 55, a cassette ejecting mechanism 122 is operated, a cassette 51 in the storage position 55 is ejected automatically in the direction of the arrow (a) and fed into the cassette carrying path 56. Then the cassette 51 is carried in the direction of the arrow (q) by both feeding rollers 194 and both timing belts 196, and since a couple of idlers 204 are pushed relatively onto the upper face 51f of the cassette 51 with a spring 208, the tape is moved surely without any slip. When the cassette is fed to a prescribed position, the position of the front edge 51a of the cassette 51 is detected and the feeding roller 194 and both timing belts 196 are stopped.
