<p>An apparatus for heating foodstuffs using a steamair mixture as the heating means. The heating mixture is circulated by a blower through the sealed cooking space having a controllable vapor vent and a condensate drain. A heater is provided for the heating mixture and a steam generator. The heater is provided with a sensor in a connection between the cooking space and the outer air, the sensor acting to control the heater. The connection is such that the steam-air mixture can pass through it only by surmounting its own buoyancy. This allows sensitive control of the discharge of excess steam so that steam production is stopped as soon as steam emerges from the cooking space.</p> |
