PURPOSE:To simplify considerably processings, which discriminates whether logging of detailed status information of an I/O device where an error occurs is necessary or not and whether execution of retry is necessary or not, in a control-side device and prevent execution of an unnecessary retry processing surely, by allowing the control-side device to determine whether retry for thin I/O device should be executed or not and whether detailed status information should be taken in or not. CONSTITUTION:If errors occur in individual I/O devices 12 and 13, error processing control information 21 is sent to a CPU10 from these I/O devices before detailed status information 22. The CPU10 determines execution/non-execution of logging, the number of logging bytes, and execution/non-execution of retry on a basis of contents of error processing control information 21. Thus, necessity of logging and necessity of retry are determined in the I/O device side, and the CPU10 executes error processings adapted to respective errors of I/O devices 12 and 13. |
