To permit cleaning of mutually engaging double conveying worms (10, 11) a chain (15) is wrapped round a chain wheel (14) on the first conveying worm (10) which is driven by a motor and round the sides, which face away from one another, of two chain wheels (16, 17), which are mounted at a distance from one another on a rod (18). The section of the chain (15', 15'') which extends between the chain wheels (16, 17) on the rod (18) is drawn out to form a U-shape and wrapped round a third chain wheel (25) on the second conveying worm (11) in order to drive the latter. Tipping of the rod about a bearing point (21) which is situated between the bearing points (19, 20) for the chain wheels (16, 17) brings about a modification in the speed of rotation of the second conveying worm (11) with respect to the speed of rotation of the first conveying worm (10) during the tipping movement, causing the volutions (10', 11') of the conveying worms to execute an axial cleaning movement in relation to one another. When the tipping movement has been completed, the worms (10, 11) once again rotate at their original speed. <IMAGE> |
