PURPOSE:To form a dam in a shor time, by applying a boding agent to one side of superposed surfaces between a cylinder block and an oil pan in two rows in and out over the whole circumference, and hardening the bonding agent at the inside just before assembling. CONSTITUTION:At a superposed surface between a flange 2a of a cylinder block 2 and a flange 3a of an oil pan 3, an almost rectangular sectional looplike dam 6 consisting of rubber or the like is glued over the whole circumference of the superposed surface of the flange 3a along the inside of the oil pan 3. A layer of a bonding agent 7 is interposed at the outside of this dam 6 so as to become equal to the thickness of dam 6 and clamped with a bolt 4 tight enough. With this constitution, the dam is formable in a short time. |
