In a shaped block for hydraulic-engineering covering structures with locking pegs and locking recesses, the locking pegs are of hemispherical design and the locking recesses are designed as grooves extending in the longitudinal direction and having a hemispherical groove cross-section and hemispherical groove ends. The radii of the hemispheres and semicircle on locking pegs and grooves are at least essentially the same. Provided on the longitudinal side having the locking pegs are three distance elements of the same height, of which two are provided at a distance apart close to the bottom or top edge and one is provided close to the respectively opposite edge.
