<p>Process for bending and thermal quenching of sheets of glass in which a glass sheet suspended vertically is heated in a furnace to a desired temp., transported to a work station provided with shaping tools and blowers, whereby in a first period of time, the front face of the shaped tools is nearer the glass than the front face of the blowing devices, and, in this position the tools are brought up to the sheet simultaneously to the bending position. At a second period, the shaping tools are sepd. from the sheet so that front face of at least one of the tools is further from the sheet than the front face of the blowing tool associated with it, in this position, the blowing tools being fed with air under pressure. During a third period, the blowing air is interrupted and the moulding tools and the blowing tools are retracted to their starting positions.</p> |
