The cutter consists of two sets (1) of cutting discs, located on vertical shafts to one side of the tractor and equipped with a mechanism to move the discs together or apart. When moved towards one another the edges of the discs overlap. The disc sets are mounted on frames (13) on vertical pivots (13f), and they can be equipped with horizontal springs (15a, 15b, 16) connected by a turnbuckle, to allow the discs to move apart when the cutters encounter a post. The cutter assembly is set on a parallelogram mechanism to allow it to be moved up and down to control the cutting height. |
