PURPOSE:To obtain chlorella having high nutrient value, by culturing chlorella in a culture liquid containing aged defatted soybean protein or its mixture with brewed soy or vinegar, and added with a germanium component. CONSTITUTION:A germanium-containing culture liquid is prepared by adding a germanium-containing solution to unrefined fermentation product of defatted soybean or a mixture of the product with brewed soy or vinegar, and the culture liquid is charged in a tank made of glass wool. The temperature of the liquid is maintained at 27-29 deg.C, and chlorella is inoculated in the liquid. The amount of the chlorella is 1/13-1/16pt.vol. per 1pt. of the culture liquid. The germanium component suppresses the proliferation of sundry germs in the culture liquid and enables the exclusive proliferation of chlorella.
