PURPOSE:A solvent for dental treatment, consisting of limonene, pentane, hexane or/and petroleum ether, having characteristics as a softening and dissolving agent for gutta-percha filler used in dental treatment, particularly endodontics, and safe for the human body. CONSTITUTION:A solvent for dental treatment containing limonene as the first component and one or more selected from pentane, hexane and petroleum ether as the second component at 60-80vol% ; 40-20vol% compounding ratio between the first and the second components. The solvent has the same characteristics as those of chloroform conventionally used as a solvent for softening, dissolving and removing gutta-percha filler which becomes old in the root canal in further treatment. The first component is approved as a medical drug, and the second component is approved as an extracting solvent under the food sanitation law respectively. The above-mentioned solvent is safe for the human body as opposed to chloroform.
