摘要 PURPOSE:To produce inexpensively a high-Mn nonmagnetic steel having excellent ordinary temp. strength, hot workability, machinability and weldability by adding a specific element for improving cold strength to the high-Mn nonmagnetic steel and reducing the contents of P and S. CONSTITUTION:0.2-1.5% V, 2.0-1.00% Cr, <3.0% Al and 0.02-0.40% N are incorporated into a high-Mn nonmagnetic steel contg. 0.30-1.00% C and 24- 31% Mn. The contents of Al and N are made into the range shown by hatching in the 1st time. 0.002-0.01% Rare earth metallic element and 0.002-0.010% Ca are further incorporated therein and the contents of P and S which affect adversely workability are made respectively <=0.015% and <=0.010%. The high- Mn nonmagnetic steel having >70kg/mm.<2> cold strength is produced at a low cost by utilizing the solid soln. hardening effect of Cr, Al or Cr, N and the precipitation hardening effect of V.
